Instructional Coach

Biography:

Kyla Crews is an instructional coach with the North Carolina New Teacher Support Program (NC NTSP)  whose primary goal is to grow student achievement by providing personalized coaching, training, and research- based strategies for beginning teachers.  Kyla believes the root of student advocacy is teacher advocacy, first. Students will reap the benefits of teachers who are knowledgeable, nurtured and supported. 

Kyla prides herself in fostering positive relationships with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders in various school districts across North Carolina. She has provided ongoing professional development, one- on-one coaching, and guided- feedback for teachers across multiple content areas K-12.   Currently, she is working toward aligning the most current, researched- based strategies with teaching practices that will enhance student growth.   

Kyla is licensed in Elementary Education(K-6) and Literacy and Language (K-12)  She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Winston Salem State University.  She also holds a Master’s Degree in Literacy from Salem College. 

When she is not coaching, Kyla enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cooking, and traveling.
